Now that Parliament is back in session in Ottawa, three lunch-hour mobilization activities are scheduled this week in Quebec City.Readers will recall that PSAC is demanding a national public inquiry and compensation for federal employees. Quebec City, September 12, 2018 – Some 20 members of the Union of National Employees (UNE), a component of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC), have been demonstrating since 6:30 this morning at the corner of Grande-Allée Boulevard and Bougainville Avenue. The members, who work for the National Battlefields Commission (NBC), are “the poor relations of the federal government.”

For the second consecutive year, the PSAC-Quebec Women’s Committee will be presenting the Exceptional Women Award. It was unanimously agreed by the regional coordinators that from now on, the competition is to be called the Magali Picard Award. It will be presented on March 8, International Women’s Day. We realized in no time that this wonderful woman and outstanding communicator inspired us, shared our feminist principles, cherished the values of social justice and inclusion and made a difference in our workplaces through her representation of us all.

Quebec, February 28, 2018 – At 6:30 this morning, members of the Union of National Defence Employees (UNDE), a component of the Public Service Alliance of Canada, Quebec Region (PSAC-Quebec), began distributing information leaflets at the entrance to the Valcartier military base. This action, which disrupted the arrival of federal employees at their place of work this morning, marks the second anniversary of the Phoenix pay system.

Québec City, January 18, 2018 – The members of the Union of Canadian Transportation Employees (UCTE), a component of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC), are currently rallying at the entrance to the Port de Québec, at the corner of Dalhousie Street and Quai Saint-André in Québec City. “Our members are standing firm. We are resolved to send the representatives and CEO of the Port de Québec the message that we will do our utmost to preserve and improve members’ working conditions,” says Louis Cannon, Regional Vice-President of UCTE.
