Quebec City, November 8, 2018 – The members of Local 10127 of the Public Service Alliance of Canada, Quebec region (PSAC-Quebec), which represents the researchers, technicians and engineers at FPInnovations in Quebec City, have voted 73% in favour of ratifying a new three-year collective agreement.  The approximately 50 unionized employees at FPInnovations in Quebec City had been without an employment contract since March 31, 2018. Negotiations resumed after members approved a rotating strike mandate on October 23.

Quebec City, September 12, 2018 – Some 20 members of the Union of National Employees (UNE), a component of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC), have been demonstrating since 6:30 this morning at the corner of Grande-Allée Boulevard and Bougainville Avenue. The members, who work for the National Battlefields Commission (NBC), are “the poor relations of the federal government.”

We have not had a collective agreement since November 1, 2017. We are seeking to have the following issues resolved.

Montréal, July 16, 2018 – The firefighters of Aéroports de Montréal, members of a local of the Public Service Alliance of Canada, ratified the tentative agreement reached with Aéroports de Montréal at the end of June. “The employer finally stopped its nonsense after a long standstill at the bargaining table”, explained Réal Brien, President of the local. “Indeed, it took a conciliation hearing – and two extensions – before the parties finally reached an agreement.”

Montreal, March 22, 2018 – The Customs and Immigration Union (CIU) and the Public Service Alliance of Canada, Quebec Region (PSAC-Quebec) will hold a demonstration near the Lacolle border crossing on Friday, March 23 at 12 p.m. During the rally, the unions will also hold a press conference regarding the ongoing bargaining process with the government toward a new collective agreement for members of the FB (Border Services) group.

Québec City, March 16, 2018 -  Today, the members of the Union of Canadian Transportation Employees (UCTE), a component of the Public Service Alliance of Canada, will sign their new collective agreement with the Port de Québec.

Montreal, March 9, 2018 – The Public Service Alliance of Canada, Quebec Region (PSAC-Quebec) has reached an agreement with the Université de Montréal (UdeM). The agreement, which was signed this morning, puts an end to the various legal actions filed in the Superior Court of Quebec since 2016. “We are satisfied with the agreement,” said Magali Picard, Executive Vice-President of PSAC-Quebec. “For us, it’s a first step towards better labour relations.”

Québec City, January 18, 2018 – The members of the Union of Canadian Transportation Employees (UCTE), a component of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC), are currently rallying at the entrance to the Port de Québec, at the corner of Dalhousie Street and Quai Saint-André in Québec City. “Our members are standing firm. We are resolved to send the representatives and CEO of the Port de Québec the message that we will do our utmost to preserve and improve members’ working conditions,” says Louis Cannon, Regional Vice-President of UCTE.
