Workers at the Douglas Research Centre, represented by PSAC-Quebec, are sick and tired of their employer’s attitude. They’ve been in collective bargaining since 2022 and have received an insulting, unacceptable response.
“As we all know, the entire healthcare sector is demanding better working conditions. The Douglas Research Centre is no exception. Its workers deserve respect, along with fair and just conditions,” said Yvon Barrière, PSAC-Quebec’s Executive Vice-President.
Bargaining started in 2022, but the team is faced with an employer who cancels meetings and persists in dragging out the talks. Labour relations remain difficult and all too often give rise to numerous grievances and harassment complaints, with staff facing reprisals when they exercise their legally recognized rights.
However, employees at the Douglas Research Centre are engaged and active. The employer can expect to see increased pressure tactics in the coming weeks.
