Concordia University invigilators choose PSAC-Quebec representation

The Public Service Alliance of Canada, Quebec Region (PSAC-Quebec) welcomes Concordia University’s invigilators as new members. An overwhelming 92% of invigilators supported PSAC union representation in a certification vote overseen by the Administrative Labour Tribunal. These results, which were confirmed on April 17, reflect a clear desire from nearly 800 employees to form a strong and organized collective voice.

“This outcome reflects exceptional mobilization and trust in the collective approach and lends real legitimacy to upcoming negotiations and the fight for pay above minimum wage,” said Sébastien Paquette, Executive Vice-President for PSAC-Quebec. “PSAC‑Quebec once again pledges to support CASSA members as they start this new chapter.”

Now part of PSAC, the Concordia Academic Support Staff Association (CASSA)—also known as the Association du personnel de soutien académique de Concordia—will hold its first general meeting shortly to enable invigilators to set their priorities and begin preparing for negotiations with Concordia management.
