LA TRAVAILLEUSE QUI ADORE JASER

Mylène is a worker who just immigrated to Canada. We meet her through her video chats with her family in Mauritius, with whom she shares her day-to-day life, her immigration challenges and her daily struggle to learn and thrive through resilience.

She defines herself as a strong woman, not just because of her weight, but also for her strength in facing barriers, injustice, and the unknown, including laws and rights she doesn’t know or understand.

She overcomes these obstacles with an easy humour that comes from the heart. She faces life with a big smile and reminds herself each night that she just finished another day in the school of life.

Everything is an experience, but is it worth the cost? Will her integration be successful, or will she give up on the path she’s carving for herself?

What happens after you reach the place where you thought the grass was greener?
