Shop Steward – Friday, Oct. 16 and Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026

Training offered to: Area councils 02 (Laval/Laurentides/Lanaudière/Abitibi Témiscamingue), 06 (Montérégie) and 07 (Montreal).

Participants acquire useful tools to perform administrative tasks and manage their local efficiently. This course encourages them to play an active role in their workplace. It also provides an opportunity to develop skills and tactics for workplace meetings and effective consultation with the employer.

The following four modules will be covered: the Role of Stewards, the Duty of Fair Representation, Strengthening the Union, and Planning for Action.

In addition, there will be a brief review of the modules Problem Solving and Grievances: An Overview.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: OCTOBER 1, 2026, 4 p.m.

We may consider the following criteria for participant selection, if necessary: gender, member of an equity group, component, DCL and one member per local.

Under national PSAC policies currently in effect, participants with cold or flu symptoms will not be admitted to in-person sessions. This directive is subject to change according to the situation.
