Job Description

This year, PSAC-Quebec is celebrating 20 years of organizing in universities. The chosen candidate’s job will be to revise, update and modernize the manuscript that recounts the first 10 years of organizing and subsequently do the research needed to write the history of the last 10 (from 2014 to 2024). Research includes tracking down archival photos and documents, interviewing key players from that time and reproducing choice excerpts in the text. Particular attention must be paid to form, that is, the document must be visually appealing, contemporary and inclusive.

Profile

  • Currently pursuing university studies in political science, journalism, communications, history, sociology or other relevant fields
  • Interpersonal skills and high level of autonomy
  • Impeccable spoken and written French
  • Creativity and skills in layout and graphic design
  • Sharing of union values such as solidarity, equality, inclusion and social justice

Eligibility criteria

  • Quebec resident (permanent or on study visa)
  • Enrolled in a study program recognized by the Ministère de l’Éducation du Québec
  • Minimum 20 hours of classes per month in the semester preceding employment (i.e., winter 2024)
  • No more than 29 years old on August 31 of the current year
  • Returning to school in September is not a requirement
