PSAC-Québec welcomes its new members from UQAM’s Public Interest Research Group (QPIRG-UQAM), an influential non-profit activist organization. They will form a new bargaining unit within the Syndicat des étudiant. e.s employé. e.s de l’UQAM (SÉTUE-UQAM).
“We are very proud to welcome these new members into PSAC-Québec’s big family,” said Regional Executive Vice-President Yvon Barrière. “Their work supporting activists and QPIRG’s operations is essential. Their values of environmentalism, feminism, anticolonialism, and antiracism are entirely in line with our own and form the basis of our common struggle for equality.”
QPIRG-UQAM brings together local, collective, and environmental initiatives focused on direct democracy, cooperation, and liberation from different forms of oppression. They advocate for ecological justice and Indigenous decolonization to put an end to the colonialist, genocidal, ecocidal, illegal, and illegitimate occupation of Indigenous land.
