Conference: The reality of economic violence in shelters for abused women

This year, the 12 Days of Action to End Violence Against Women Committee wants to tackle economic violence, as well as gender-based violence. The Committee’s theme for the 14th edition of the event is: “Gendered precarity, ignored violence”. Precariousness and poverty are forms of extreme violence that are all too often unrecognized and under-reported.

The PSAC-Quebec Women’s Committee has answered the call and would like to invite you to a conference on economic violence against women.

The objective of this conference is to learn more and raise awareness about this type of violence. With the help of two professionals specialized in domestic violence, we will attempt to identify this specific form of violence, to better define and understand it. We’ll also give some pointers on how to support those who wish to act as allies.

The invitation is open to all, and will be offered in French only. No registration required.
