Congratulations to the Syndicat des étudiant.e.s employé.e.s de l’UQAM (SÉTUE) members at the UQAM Foundation, who officially signed their new four-year collective agreement on November 20, 2024.
“This 17.47% catch-up is a remarkable step forward for these university sector members. It’s well deserved,” said Yvon Barrière, Regional Executive Vice-President. “Congratulations to the entire bargaining team for their uncompromising work.”
The new collective agreement features significant wage enhancements, including:
- 2024: 17.47% Wage catch-up
- 2025: 3% Wage increase
- 2026: 3% Wage increase
- 2027: 3% Wage increase
It also includes:
- A new 3% allowance in compensation for the lack of group insurance
- A 1.4% increase in paid holiday allowance (from 3.6% to 5%)
- An increase in the number of union leave hours for bargaining
- Improved turnaround times on contract confirmation for student employees
- A new article on the employer’s responsibility to provide the necessary equipment in good condition for employees to perform their work
- Substantial improvements to the articles on workplace harassment protections and prevention, as well as harassment grievance timelines
- Legal changes to the Disciplinary Measures Section for misconduct involving physical or psychological violence, including sexual violence
